Cypress Readiness was founded by Maia Walton, a Private Estate Manager specializing in estate resilience, continuity, and emergency preparedness.

Maia’s career in private service began more than two decades ago. In 2001, while working for a family in Manhattan, the September 11th attacks fundamentally changed the way she thought about caring for a household. In the days and months that followed, preparedness became part of the job—not as an abstract exercise, but as a practical responsibility to the family, their home, and the people around them.

That perspective stayed with her.

Years spent working in private homes across the United States and internationally gave Maia an expansive understanding of how households actually function: the people, properties, staff, vendors, technology, routines, supplies, transportation, communications, and hundreds of small details that are easy to take for granted until something goes wrong.

Cypress Readiness grew from that experience.

We help private families understand where they are prepared, where they are vulnerable, and what can be put in place now to make their households more resilient. The goal isn’t to prepare families to live in fear of an emergency. It’s to give them the confidence of knowing that, should something happen, there is a plan.
